My name is Valencio, Edson, I am luthier since 1979, making guitars.
Love the sound of the guitar, I always try to make my instruments sounds great.
For year, I make, (and still making), guitars, following the designs of the great Spanish luthier, Antonio Torres Jurado.
This guitars sounds very good, but, I never was happy with de difference between the trebles and the bass cords, mainly, when we move between de 3ª and 4ª string.
Tried every brand of strings.
Well, one day, in the 80', I saw a video, in a cultural channel, made by John Willians the great guitar player. In this video, He shows a genius-luthier, living in Australia, making guitars, in a total different philosophy.
The internal structure was a lattice bracing, and very flexible. And, my identification total with this luthier, was that he looked like a hippye, with long hair and living in the countryside. His name has (and is) Greg Smallman.
I never forget him, and still making Torres.
With the advent of the internet, and the globalization of the informations, I found many posts about the Smallman guitars, and start the studies about this type of guitar, and the secrets of its construction.
I call this guitar, Smallman type, because, of course, is not a copy, like all Torres made by us luthiers, is not a Torres copy. I garantee the best handcrafted guitars made with the best Brasilian woods.
